Thor Cuts Off Deal With Grill House

The Grill House on the boardwalk is the new victim to fall to Thor’s lease entanglement. The developer refused to execute their 2007 agreement with The Grill House as they have done with the Lola Staar boutique. Sources (who asked to remain anonymous) said that Thor Equities had offered them the lease in the fall. Grill House owner, Steve had some reservations about specific details in the lease that he did not agree with. Regardless, he later decided to sign in late January. This was about the same time Dianna Carlin of Lola Staar agreed to sign, only later to be evicted. The Grill House called Sam Sabin of Thor Equities to inform him that they were interested in signing on for another season but Sabin told him that they had changed their mind and were no longer going to offer them the agreement for the 2007 season.

As of yet, Thor Equities has not, officially evicted the Grill House - and that is perhaps because The Grill House had a prior long-term agreement with Herman Singer, the previous owner of the property.

The Grill House will probably have a legal leg to stand on in this issue if Thor Equities decides to 'evict' them. Steve of the Grill House is said to have ownership of the actual building. As sources informed: “His hope was that the eviction (if Thor did serve them with papers) could get tied up in court for at least the summer, if not longer. What a horrible nightmare for Coney Island...... It just gets worse and worse by the day.”

"As sources informed..."

Sources? Seems pretty irresponsible to attribute something as blatantly one sided and subjective as "What a horrible nightmare for Coney Island......It just gets worse and worse by the day." to sources.
